'Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites' coming soon to MCM

The Mississippi Children's Museum will soon welcome its first traveling exhibit -- "Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites".

The exhibit features famous characters and iconic scene taken right out of the pages of seven celebrated children's books: "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom", "The Snowy Day", "Abuela", "Tuesday", and "Where’s Spot?".

Storyland's grand opening is Saturday, May 19. It will run through Aug. 26.

John Bell Williams Airport to host remote-controlled plane fly-in

The John Bell Williams Airport in Raymond and the Hinds Community College Aviation Department will host the 21st Annual Mississippi Afterburner Jet Rally Thursday-Saturday, May 3-5.

More than 75 remote-controlled jet pilots will participate in the event, flying their model turbine-powered jets at speeds of more than 200 mph. Free Health Fair at Mississippi College Monday

Free Health Fair at Mississippi College Monday

The Mississippi College School of Nursing invites citizens to attend a free health fair at Brighton Park in Clinton. The fair is scheduled for April 16, from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

MC along with the Central Mississippi Medical Center will promote the theme "Win the Gold with Good Health" throughout the event. The health fair will ofter participants free health screenings, health education and lunch.
