The walk is at Winner's Circle Park. Check in opens at 8 a.m.

Car show raises $700 for Batson Children’s Hospital

CLINTON — Clinton High School students raised more than $700 this weekend with a car show to benefit Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.

The car show, held Saturday at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Clinton, is one of several fundraisers CHS is planning this spring to benefit the children’s hospital.

“We had 29 vehicles entered in the show, 24 cars and five trucks,” said Megan Woodard, CHS teacher and event organizer.

New Galilean Annual Fun Day

New Galilean Baptist Church's Annual Fun Day is Saturday, March 17.

At 9 a.m., there will be a parade from the Presidential Hills Community Coenter to the New Galilean Chapel led by the sounds of the Jim Hill High School marching band. 

The Fun Day activities are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

This is a free event for the entire family that will include entertainment, food, games and other activities.

New Galilean is located at 3830 North Flag Chapel Road in Jackson.

Rare Hymnals Displayed at Leland Speed Library

The year was 1632 in England when its ruler Charles I issued a charter for the colony of Maryland in a place we know today as the United States.

It was the same year that a commonly used congregational songbook for English worship was printed. In a sheepskin binding, a copy of the songbook is part of a display of rare hymnals at Mississippi College’s Leland Speed Library.
